Smoky Mountains, Tennessee
Trip Details
Well renowned not just for the beauty of its ancient mountains, but also for its diversity of plant and animal life and the quality of Southern Appalachian mountain culture, the Smoky National Park is a treasure trove of inspiration and education. It is here, nestled among ridge upon ridge of rolling mountains, that lies our beloved Cherokee National Forest and the Ocoee River region, an ideal backdrop for yoga in the outdoors.

Built in 1937 by Leah’s grandfather, Robert Glenn Card, Sr. as a hunting cabin, Camp Tall Timber sits peacefully on the shores of Lake Ocoee. A site chosen for its pristine views of Sugarloaf Mountain, gentle shoreline and close proximity to the back roads of the Cherokee Forest, “the cabin” became a favorite destination for the entire extended family. Since its humble one-room beginnings, the camp has expanded to host a stationary and floating dock on the water, a welcoming screened-in front porch, open living room area, full service kitchen, five bedrooms, three baths plus a newly added bunkhouse.

Our retreat will follow a traditional ashram schedule, but with all activities being optional. Yoga classes will be held twice each day, including morning meditation and satsang fellowship in the evenings. Our in-house chef will prepare delicious & wholesome vegetarian meals with raw food options. In addition, Leah will host a short workshop on yoga philosophy Saturday afternoon. And of course, there will be plenty of free time to explore the surrounding area and enjoy your self!

Also to note, massage services will be available during free times. These sessions will be at an additional cost and can be scheduled before and upon arrival to the cabin. Reservations will be taken on a first come, first served basis.

About Your Staff
Leah Lillios, owner of Kali Yuga Yoga, and Bethann Easterly, Licensed Massage Therapist, met as coworkers at a day spa in East Nashville. They found commonality and friendship through their mutual love of whole foods, sustainable living and the healing arts. Over the course of many years the two each shared their gifts of yoga and massage with one another providing strength, relief and support through life’s ups and downs. Thus when Leah developed the idea of a cabin retreat, Bethann was an obvious choice to share her talents and her warm spirit with future guests. This will be their second year of hosting the Smoky Mountain getaway and they are excited to welcome you to join them!
